Outdoor IP Cameras are intended for demanding environments, where exposure to the elements of water, sunlight, and heavy dirt are present. Outdoor rated IP Cameras carry a rating of IP66, which means two things:
1. Water projected in powerful jets against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
2. No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact.
Be cautious of cameras or housings with ratings less than IP66, as they may not provide the protection required to keep your IP Camera functional and safe.
